Fun-A-Day Delaware 2013

Artist's Statement from show:

For Fun-A-Day I wanted to challenge myself to experiment with media and surfaces I don’t have a lot of experience with. I am most comfortable with paint on canvas so I tried to stay away from that. Instead, I practiced polymer transfer techniques on canvas and card. Linoleum carving blocks haven’t graced my studio since senior year of college, so I decided to remedy that. Scavanged picture frames had the glass removed and the glass became a challenging support for paintings and drawings. A pasta maker became my printing press and I learned that spray paint takes days to wear off of skin, no matter how much you scrub.

All in all, I just wanted to have fun and enjoy the process of learning and re-discovering different art making techniques.

These pieces were on view at 605 North Market Street, Wilmington, DE 19801 from May 3, 2013-May 9, 2013 as part of the Downtown Art Loop.
